Hi, i followed the documentation step by step, also followed the installation view by Lucifer on YouTube. But i keep getting a blank screen. This happens after i create 2 partitions: 1 with 8 GB for SWAP ( i have 4 GB on my laptop) and the rest 472 GB for root. i didn't select the option to transfer user configuration files because i want a clean install as possible. The live system is installed properly and asks me to reboot. When i reboot it asks me to take out the medium ( meaning the bootable flash disk i guess? ) so i take it out and press enter as required. the elementary os boot menu appears and i choose first option *elementary but i reached a blank screen that wont disappear. nothing happens.
I'm new to Linux, this is my second distro that i'm installing. what did i do wrong?
i would appreciate i fast response, since i'm planning to use BackSlash Linux as my daily driver and for now my computer isn't booting anything.
Thank.

Check if MD5 of your download is 2f3e05d8b6c45b2897d0f207113e4142. Reboot the computer in EFI mode and try to install. Create a FAT32 partition with "/boot/efi' as mount point in EFI/UEFI mode.

Create a FAT32 partition with "/boot/efi' as mount point in EFI/UEFI mode. its still not booting up. I forgot to mention that when i first tried to installed Backslash. i deleted some partitions that were spread around(Maybe one was EFI? i dont know). i dont know if my laptop supports UEFI and EFI so i boot the install medium via bios and made 1 swap partition of 8 GB ,partition "/boot/efi' of 200 MB and the rest 470 GB for root. i checked the MD5, its good. what else can i do? I Also had to flash via rufus in DD MODE in not ISO mode because it kept crashing while transferring system image. Ill try a different usb drive and flash in iSO mode and try again.

What else can i do?? my computer came with win 7 from factory so i believe it doesnt support UEFI/EFI.

Hello,Your Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD 6470M is not supported by BackSlash Linux and the OS boots into a black screen because there is no integrated graphics card present in your laptop. The only possible way to fix this is to drop to a root shell via boot menu(recovery mode) and installing the correct driver for your device (consult your manufacturer's website for this) via the CLI. Another workaround is to boot into Safe Graphics Mode and run in a low resolution and install the drivers via terminal. This driver issue is taken into consideration and will be fixed soon.

Unfortunately i dont have the time right now due to my final exams so ill try again later. Ill follow your updates on the update blog Thanks again.

Unfortunately i dont have the time right now due to my final exams so ill try again later. Ill follow your updates on the update blog Thanks again. so after a research i found out that since 16.04 AMD catalyst drivers are no longer valid, its an issue for every machine that has RADEON GPU. I found out that there is an open source drivers called AMD-GPU and AMD-GPU-PRO not sure whats the difference but i only found installation notes on AMD-GPU-PRO. when i followed the installation notes on AMD site i came across with message "Unsupported OS". found this guide dont try it, if your'e having the same issue https://www.reddit.com/r/elementaryos/comments/4wl6f0/amd_gpu_pro_on_loki_ubuntu_1604/ which showed how to make it worked for elemantary os. I tried it but still came across a blank screen when trying to boot up normally. Now even booting via recovery mode to safe graphics mode doesn't work anymore lol. I did all of this after updating everything to latest version. including kernel. Please let me know if i can do anything else or if the update goes live
